What is mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a non-surgical, minimally-invasive cosmetic treatment where a series of micro- injections of homeopathic preparations, vitamins, enzymes, hormones, mineral plant, amino acids and/or trace elements are placed via a super fine needle in the layer of fat just beneath the skin. These nutrients are deeply moisturising, which leads to enhanced skin regeneration and they allow your skin to offer better hydration. It will leave skin looking almost luminescent.

Mesotherapy was invented by French scientist Michel Pastor in 1952, and since then it has become the most important process to rejuvenate skin safely and effectively in both men and women.

The procedure can be done manually using a thin needle and syringe or automatically using a special Mesotherapy gun, as we use. By using the micro-needling technique (Nappage), we can introduce the substances that act therapeutically in the selected areas.

At Shahla's Aesthetic Clinic, Mesotherapy is performed using a modern pain-free device called the U225 Gun. This gun automatically doses the nutrients to the selected depth of skin. This method allows the precision in the dosage, reduces patient discomfort and eliminates any bruising, which makes the patient return to daily activities with in an hour after receiving treatment.

How does Mesotherapy work?

The principle behind Mesotherapy is in allowing organic substances to penetrate deep into the skin, to reach the areas that simple moisturising creams cannot. Mesotherapy solutions can stimulate the Fibroblast cells in the skin to produce more collagen.

For Mesotherapy to be most effective a course of 4-6 treatments are recommended at an interval of 2-3 weeks.

What are the main benefits?

  • Increases the firmness and elasticity of the skin
  • Improvement in the skin’s complexion and radiance
  • Prevention of wrinkles and reduction in dull, tired looking skin
  • Can improve skin tone and elasticity of sagging skin on the hands, décolleté and neck area
  • Treats all skin types safely and one-off treatments are extremely popular for special occasions for instant glow, skin radiance and giving an amazing base to apply makeup.

Which skin conditions does Mesotherapy treat?

  • Unwanted pigmentation. Some Mesotherapy cocktails are formulated with ingredients such as Glutamic Acid to help unwanted pigmentation. This can be effective for certain forms of sun spots and melasma.
  • Meso can also be used to fade acne spots and scars, while antioxidants ad amino acids have an anti-inflammatory effect that encourages repair and healing.
  • Double chin
  • Décolletage
  • Stretch marks treatments.
  • Removal pockets of fat in areas like the stomach, thighs, buttocks, hips, legs, arms, and face and chin.
  • Cellulite reduction
  • Hair loss treatments.

Can Mesotherapy be used to treat hair loss?

Mesotherapy can be an alternative treatment that helps to cure the baldness in both males and females by reducing hair loss. It does this by initiating cell metabolism, improving blood circulation in the scalp and strengthening hair follicles, accelerating hair growth.

This treatment usually spans over a period of 8 sessions, one every week for duration of half an hour. Another hair and scalp problem that can be treated with mesotherapy is dandruff problem.

Can Mesotherapy be used for weight loss?

Mesotherapy can aid weight loss by breaking down fat cells and permanent results can be achieved alongside a proper diet, lifestyle and nutritional supplements.

When Mesotherapy solutions are injected into fatty tissues with the automatic gun, they begin the fat breakdown, transforming the fat cells into tiny fat particles of nano size. The final process occurs in the liver where the fat is completely broken down into carbon dioxide and water.

The majority of patients report results after four treatments, but this does depend on the amount of fat to be treated. Some report of instant results have been known, as clothing becomes looser and thinner appearance is noted.

Who is Mesotherapy treatment suitable for?

This procedure is not used for pregnant women, nursing mothers, morbidly obese patients, or people with diabetes.
